Some of the things I love about Ringo: His laconic wit, his straight forward sense of humor! His steady back beat keeping the lads playing their songs in concert while coming up with very innovative studio techniques in percussion, and showing what a talented drummer really is like such as on Abbey Road and more! His malapropisms (play on words) such as A Hard Days Night. Even though he's so Famous, in my opinion he was always like a Regular Guy! One of the Best Drummers Ever! And he's still Rockin Strong! Happy Birthday Ringo! And Many more to come!  :-)

I agree with everything you said, BeatleBob! I love those things about Ringo! Like something JP said, he helped bring the drummer image to the forefront - he sang, was on harmonies, and contributed to the band with malapropisms like A Hard Day's Night and Tomorrow Never Knows. The drummer used to be just the guy in the back with the beat, but Ringo had a name for himself, and as laid back as he was, he was a shining starr in his own right. Continually will new drummers and old alike will find inspiration and amazement in Ringo's skills and his career as a Beatle and solo performer, and he always has his buddies to back him up as the All Starrs.

He eventually became an actor, and continued on with his solo career - and at 72, he's still touring! 

I could imagine Ringo saying, "I'm only 72, and all I want to do, is Boogaloo! Hey!" ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆

And I agree with everything you said and what JP said, BeatleGirl! Ringo is a truly amazing talent and contributed so much! And had a long truly amazing career! And still going strong at 72!

You would never know he was 72. When I saw him in June, he was dancing around the stage like a 20 YO. He was in fine form. Happy Birthday Ring....O!
