Please Please Me is the debut album of The Beatles in 1963. It includes 14 tracks, 10 of which were recorded in just one day, all in all with a mixture of Lennon-McCartney tracks, along with song favorites. The iconic album cover was photographed by Angus McBean at the then headquarters of EMI Limited in London. 'Love Me Do' was their first single and it peaked the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #1 in 1964 in the US.

I adore this album. I especially adore that they were able to do it in 10 hours, but it's more impressive that they HAD to do it that fast because they were so hot and in high-demand! That's our boys! Love...
This was actually, the third, I think, Beatles album I listened to! I borrowed it from a local library since I couldn't afford it back then yet. I wanted to keep it for good! I love listening to the rawness of the early days of the fab four. To think, this was their debut album after playing all those nights in clubs getting girls and making their mark in the music world ;) This showed pure talent and the introduction of how infectious the "Beatles sound" could be even if they had to rush recording. By the middle of the album, you'll still find yourself listening and singing along to "Love Me Do", even if you're just a new fan!
Lennon's vocals is like nothing you've heard before. Totally unique and blends well with Paul's vocals. Paul's high-hitting notes adds that fun, soulful effect that Little Richard had with his songs. Paul's simple melodic bassline matches the songs about love. George's guitar makes you fall in love with his signature licks that are quirky and different in their own way. Ringo's drumming just makes everything more complete. There's slow songs and fast songs to fit all moods and tastes in music. A really listen-friendly album makes this debut album deserve an A++++ all the way! Leaves you satisfied! The Beatles please pleases me the way I'd please them!
I should mention the songwriting of each of the fabs. Lennon shows an introspective view of the world with "There's A Place" while we get to hear the first song to kick us up off our seats & dance to "I Saw Her Standing There", a song which shows that Paul could easily write a simple ditty that's upbeat and catchy at the same time, even though corny at times!
The album ends with "Twist & Shout" an impression that Lennon & the band creates and makes it stick with you just so you can listen to "I Saw Her Standing There" and the rest of the album all over again. Again, what an amazing debut album!
We get to hear all four Beatles here, not just a lead singer, but the whole band. That is what I love about this band!
Oh yeah, I like the album better in mono, because I unknowingly listened to it on stereo earlier, then I needed to switch.
It's truly great. They "please please me" every day! :]
It's amazing for a first debut album. Alot of great classic sounding early Beatles songs, and the cover songs are much better than the originals in my opinion.
I read somewhere they recorded it all in one day because they couldn't afford more studio time. That's why John's voice sounds like he had a sore throat by the end of "Twist & Shout". haha!
There are no birthdays today
