Ringo Starr has insisted that he has no plans to retire.

He went on to say: "I joke that I'll end up in a blues band and play very, very slow."

Starr also praised his wife of 32 years, Barbara Bach, for keeping him alive and healthy by urging him to give up alcohol decades ago.

"There have been bad times, but I don't care how bad it gets as long as it's me and her. I love the woman. She loves me," he beamed. "Some days, I tell her, 'You've got to leave me. I want to leave me'. She says, 'I'll never leave you'. There's nothing better." -Digital Spy
