BeatleGirl, Thanks again for the Link and the information you provided!! IF you ever want to tinker around with using the "Gradient Map Tool", here is a Link to a Video. He uses it towards the middle of the Video.  From 9:30  to 13:03   And  19:34 to 21:27   ;-)

Wow, you did a really good job for your first time colorizing a photo, BeatleGirl!

After my computer crashed, I lost my Paint Shop Pro program...

I was going to Photoshop me naked with the young Monkees! LOL!

Oh well... I sadly can't find any naked pictures of them though! And I'm too embarrassed to take a full nude photo of myself! Lmao!!!!

Beatlebob's directions are a bit confusing! Photoshop is time consuming indeed!

I barely have any time on the computer/Internet anymore and I really miss you all, especially my best friend BeatleGirl!  :(

Hi BeatleGirl,

You're Welcome!! You did a Great job for your First Time Colorizing!!

Thanks BeatleGirl!!! I just checked out the Instructions from the Link you provided. Looks Good!! Thanks for letting me know the steps you took for colorizing your photo!! The Magnetic Lasso Tool works good, as long as you make a lot of Clicks when it starts veering off into another part of the image. It is a bit tricky! I tried all the selection tools, I find using the magic wand on a low tolerance works good, for a while. Then I switch to the Selection Brush Tool and click the Add / Subtract buttons as needed to finish off the selection. But the Magnetic Lasso Tool works good sometimes too. ;-)

I was using the Gradient Map Tool for coloring and sometimes the Hue Saturation tool for coloring. I Didn't use any "Actual Color Photos of The Beatles" to use the Color Picker Tool with!!! That's a GREAT Idea!!! Thanks!!! :-)) Takes a lot of guess work out of choosing colors!! :-)))

Thanks again for letting me know how you went about Colorizing!!!! :-))) It IS time consuming!! When I find some time again and find some Good Color Photos of The Beatles to use with the Color Picker, I'll try to do another one again!! ;-)

You're Welcome!!! I Do Love the One You Did!!! It's GREAT!!  :-D

Have a FAB Day!! :-)

Hi BeatleBob,

Thanks! :) I wanted to try it after you posted all those colorized photos you made and found! They look so cool!

I followed instructions here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/42066/how-to-colorize-black-and-whit...

---

Basically it's just adding layers in Color mode and coloring it from there, adding layers with each color.

I used the Selection Brush to select, but after I was finished with colorizing this photo, I found out that it said to use the Magnetic Lasso Tool! LOL It's easier than the brush, but it's tricky for me!

Then I filled it in with colors I chose using the color picker tool from actual colored photos of The Beatles, adding layers for different selections, and if I went over a selection, I just erased any mistakes.

I didn't use any gradients - the shadows on the original photo along with color mode did the trick! I did darken some colors if they were too light and changed any hues to fit their skin tone/hair better.

Thanks again! :)) Glad you love it!

Just wanted to say again, GREAT Job on this!!  :-D
I'm Curious, did you paint this using the paint brush tool along with the color palette or color swatches while adjusting the opacity? Or, did you use a Gradient Map and or the Hue / Saturation Tool on Selections?? Great Job!! I Love It!!  :-D
