I agree, interesting and thought provoking lyrics! I love the Beatles lyrics too.
In a 1972 interview, Lennon discussed the lyrics to “Dig a Pony”
"I was just having fun with words. It was literally a nonsense song. You just take words and you stick them together, and you see if they have any meaning. Some of them do and some of them don’t".
The lyrics are incidental, but clever. " You can indicate anything you see". I Think it means to be free with your emotions, realizing the limitless potential and possibilities in anything you see. Mostly John's stream of consciousness poetic style and no hidden meaning like an abstract painter but with abstract lyrics. All the Beatles were like that. I agree that they tapped into a universal consciousness or universal creativity! Yes, The Beatles were the greatest and most influential artists of any genre on culture. No other band can compare. I totally agree with "Everything" you said here!! :-)
Interesting lyrics. I love the Beatles lyrics. They are thought provoking. In this song Lennon says," You can indicate anything you see". I'm not sure what it means but it makes me wonder. They were like an abstract painter only they were abstract lyricists. I feel they tapped into a universal consciousness or universal creativity. Maybe we can agree on this website. The Beatles were the greatest and most influential artists of any genre on culture. No other band can compare. I believe that's the truth. Beatles are number one! I'm quite sure no one will overtake them. To me its like music has already reached its pinnacle and there's nothing left to get excited about or look forward to. Each generation thinks their musicians are just as good but there is always a wise lot in every generation who are aware of the Beatle genius so they continue to prove themselves in history with a growing fan base.
