Was similar with me. When the Beatles broke up I heard all kinds of things about Yoko being the main reason for the Break Up of the Beatles! Heard that Paul had called her some real nasty names and more things I heard at the time. A couple of years later I read things that shed the truth about why the Beatles really broke up. And saw some interviews on TV with John & Yoko speaking about it too. Here's a short excerpt I found that explains this well about Yoko in those times.

"In reality, Yoko Ono had little to do with the breakup, though she did encourage her new husband to go off on his own, if he wasn't satisfied as a Beatle. The British public blamed her for splitting up Lennon's marriage to Cynthia, and Lennon's letting his more artistic side show, and they let her and Lennon know this whenever possible. The other Beatles also resented her presence at recording sessions, and speaking critically of their new music."

So yes, Everyone broke up The Beatles as we know now including the Beatles themselves and the people around them. I changed my mind about Yoko through the mid to late 70's!

I've grown to like, even love Yoko -- she truly is a unique woman/artist!

When I was a new fan, I was misinformed by a text in a book, and looking at the picture, thinking "She BROKE up The Beatles!", I became so infuriated with hate. No one changed my mind on her - only I did. I thought about it and eventually knew that it held no truth. Everyone broke up The Beatles.

I have to admit in the early 70's I really disliked Yoko because I thought she was one of the main reasons why the Beatles broke up. By the late 70's I found out a lot more about why they broke up. Yoko really had nothing to do with it! The other Beatles were a bit put off that she was always there in the studio with John. But, that surely wasn't the reason why they broke up! After John's death, Yoko always tried to keep John's memory alive for us in so many ways, and John & Yoko's message of Peace and Love alive till this day! Since the late 70's I surely changed my mind about Yoko! And I always admired their love and respect for each other!
