Let It Be and Magical Mystery Tour May Soon To Be Released on Blu-ray and DVD in 2012 and 2013

More than 40 years after their release, The Beatles' "Let It Be" and the "Magical Mystery Tour" films may finally be coming to Blu-ray and DVD.
"We have been been working on it pretty much every year for the last couple of years. And the plan is, at the moment, to have it come out, I think, in 2013," Lindsay-Hogg said.
Both films were briefly available on VHS in the early 1980s. Pirated copies have become popular staples at record collector shows for decades.

How do you guys feel about this?! I know there's been pirated copies, VHS, and YouTube, and torrents to see these movies, but it will be OFFICIALLY released!

I can't believe LIB is going to be released on DVD. The boys never wanted that to happen! Oh well...even though it's not always so "pretty" to watch, I think it's great and worth seeing for all fans! I'm excited!

I'm excited about this. Even though I have only watched LIB maybe 1 or 2 times, not something I'd watch on a Friday night, but since it will be officially released, the guys behind putting this out will make money, and Beatles fans will get to see this in better quality than the previous pirated and VHS copies out there. Which makes it oh so a happy ending.

Again, Beatles fans who'd like to see an inside scene on what went on during the LIB sessions will get to see it! For some, I think they may be their favorite Beatles "movie" or documentary because it's not all fluff and cartoony or LSD inspired stuff... So yeah, it'd be great! As for MMT, um, well that's something to watch on a rainy day and when you can't get enough of the crazy antics of the Fab Four!

I've already got MMT on DVD, so I don't understand why they're saying it's coming out...unless it's coming out just a second time or something like the other movies have.

Yeah...LIB is a real look at the lads. It's reality! I love it. It's something special and unique.

They must mean in Blu-ray then. I don't really care about official releases, either, as Sadie said, because anyone can watch them online, like on YouTube lol. But money is money and better quality is quality!

Update: What the devil! I searched for 'Let It Be' on YouTube, and it said EMI blocked it for copyright reasons. :O

I love YouTube for being able to find random rare Beatles and related videos, for example, "The Music of Lennon & McCartney" 1965 TV Special that I had been wanting to see forever.
Darn that EMI...
