The Day John Met Paul

It was July 6, 1957...

While setting up their equipment to play, the Quarrymen's sometime tea-chest bass player, Ivan Vaughan, introduced the band to one of his classmates from Liverpool Institute, the 15-year-old Paul McCartney.

This historic occasion was the first time McCartney met John Lennon, a year his senior. McCartney wore a white jacket with silver flecks, and a pair of black drainpipe trousers.

The pair chatted for a few minutes, and McCartney showed Lennon how to tune a guitar - the instruments owned by Lennon and Griffiths were in G banjo tuning. McCartney then sang Eddie Cochran's Twenty Flight Rock and Gene Vincent's Be-Bop-A-Lula, along with a medley of songs by Little Richard. The rest is history.

Thanks BeatleNut! :-) I agree with Everything you said! Except, there are some exceptions of first-generation fans out there like me that think it's Great that there are Beatle Fans of all ages! You can see evidence of that on the DVD movie "Paul McCartney - The Space Within Us". And your right about that manager!

BeatleGirl: I Enjoyed what you said about the first time you visited Strawberry Fields in Central Park! Yes, you where there for a reason after all and that made it even more special! :-)

About everything else you said here, it's so Sad that you ran into so many Jerks!! People can be So Cruel!! You can run into them In every aspect of life! :-((

It would be Great if you could create a Peace shield when around people like this!

Unfortunately there are So Many hostile judgmental arrogant people out there, it's just the way it is! Most of these types feel the need to put people down to fore fill their own inner shortcomings while under the guise of their arrogant know it all personas!

"Fortunately there are some people out there that aren't like these types, although it seems a small percentage!" Thankfully there are some!!

I've been a Beatles fan since 1964. And I have to say I learned so many things about the Beatles that I didn't know, from people like you and others here! I think it's so Cool that the Beatles are Timeless and have Fans of All ages! Feeling the way I do about the Beatles I certainly understand why people of all ages become such devoted fans! And there are some other first-generation Fans out there that feel the same way!

I Hope You and BeatleNut will run into some of these Better people that are out there! But, in the meantime keep that Peace shield on!

From what you said here, I understand why you needed to let off some steam! LOL

I've met the sweet and inviting kind too, but the hostile and judgemental ones seem to outnumber the welcoming ones. However, like I said before, I can at least see their point in a way (being a bit skeptical) but overall, I'd still be thrilled their legacy was being carried on by the next generation! :]
