Hi Folks,
I just got thru improving my new site: "Beatles On Film". I recoded all the video so now it should play without stopping. Made other improvements including my first link on the links page, Guess Where?.... To "Beatles Abbey Road" of course. Take a look. Let me know if you find any errors.

Wow, your new site is so cool! I love that cute, colorful "A Hard Day's Night" border on the side corners!
I love the idea of a site about The Beatles films because I'm both a big movie buff and Beatles fan, obviously. I didn't really find any errors, unless when you said the album "Let It Be" was recorded before "Abbey Road" could be considered a bit wrong.
Actually, some songs from both albums were recorded during the same time period in 1969.
But unless you want every little detail on your page to be precise, that's not really worth changing. :-)
I think "The First U.S. Visit" is worth a mention (since you mentioned "Let It Be" and that's also more of a documentary than a movie). Although I love the 1991 one, I've always wanted to see the original uncut 1964 Maysles Brothers version which sometimes plays at film festivals. :-)
I also think when you said "'Magical Mystery Tour' was critically slammed when it aired on British television in 1967, but it is now considered a cult classic."
It's also worth nothing that it was shown on Boxing Day and in black & white, because obviously those were big factors in it being a flop at first (along with it's experimental avant-garde "art film" nature)
You could also add some other interesting facts about Beatles films, such as the original working title for "HELP!" was "Eight Arms To Hold You".
(In fact, some early promotional posters actually advertise "The Beatles Upcoming Movie 'Eight Arms To Hold You'!)
I hope you don't mind my suggestions....
Just some ideas to make your site even better although it's already great! ;-)
Speaking of "Magical Mystery Tour" movie, has anyone here ever seen that 2012 special called "Magical Mystery Tour Revisited"? Both Paul and Ringo and alot of other interesting people are interviewed for it. It's worth watching if you haven't seen it already. CLICK HERE to watch!
Great new site, Anthony! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Looking forward to anything else you may add on to it in the future!
Have a fab day, everyone!!! :-)
Hi Anthony,
GREAT!!!! I looked and they ALL played without stopping! Great Job improving your new site!!!
Love It!!! So, far I didn't find Any errors! Will keep coming back to your site!! :-)
Sadie, Some Good points and suggestions you added here!! And Thanks for the Link to "Magical Mystery Tour Revisited"!!! Will check it out when I have more time!! :-)
Hi Sadie,
Thanks for all your input. As you might guess, a lot of the material in my site is "borrowed" from places on the internet. I don't have the rights to any videos. But, almost any of these videos can be found on YouTube, Vimeo, and etc. Some of them did come from you tube. I have a way of extracting them from those sites. The videos have to be edited and recoded. It's a free site that I'm only going to be sharing with friends and other Beatle sites. The most that could happen would be that the webhost would tell me to take it down, if they get a legitimate complaint. I pay $6 Month for the web host. But I did make the site. The program I use is Serif Webplus 8. I 've been working on and off for about a year. I really enjoy making it. As for the "magical Mystery Tour revisited", I have seen some of it when it was on PBS. Since you reminded me, I was able to extract the complete show from Vimeo and will be putting it up soon. All of the video on YouTube and Vimeo are posted by people who don't have rights to it either. I will try to add some of your suggestions also. Anything you would like me add, just let me know. Thanks for your help. I will post this to Bob also, who has been a great help too.
Take Care,
Anthony

Thanks for your help. Yes I found a program which recodes to videos to make them stream better. When I built the site, I had no idea how the video would work when put up on an actual server. So now I have fixed this problem. Any suggestions you have are appreciated.
Thanks,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
Thanks so much for posting this message!! I Hope the web host will Never tell you to take your site down!! Sometimes some of the videos are deleted on the sites you mentioned because of copyright laws. But, since you have a way of extracting the videos from those sites and the videos have to be "edited and recoded". Even if some of those videos are deleted from those sites it won't effect the videos on your site! And since you're only going to be sharing your site with friends and other Beatle sites, I doubt the Copyright People who delete some of the videos found on the sites you mentioned, will find Your Videos and delete them! So, your web host shouldn't ever have a legitimate complaint to tell you to take your site down!! It's Great that you only pay $6 Month for the web host! I've heard of the program you used for your site "Serif Webplus 8". I know they make other programs too such as PagePlus, DrawPlus, and PhotoPlus. I heard they make Good Programs!! And you did a GREAT job making your site! I see you have been working on and off for about a year on your site. And I'm Glad you enjoy making it! WOW! I'm Glad to hear you were able to extract the complete show from Vimeo of "Magical Mystery Tour revisited", and will be putting it up soon! GREAT!!! :-) I look forward to seeing it there! It's Great that you found a program which recodes to videos to make them stream better!! I see you fixed the problem that was there before with that program!! GREAT!! :-)
Thanks Anthony!!
Take Care and Enjoy the Labor Day Weekend,
Bob :-)
Hey Anthony! I agree with Beatlebob! I don't think you have much to worry about in terms of any copyrighted content getting removed from your site! If it's on YouTube, Vimeo, etc... it can be on your page too! As long as you're not selling it or anything, there shouldn't really be a problem!
I've never heard of "Serif Web Plus 8" but it seems like a good program! That's also good how you only pay $6 a month! Wow, you've been working on that site for a year or so?? Well it certainly is well done!
I hope you both have time to watch or re-watch "Magical Mystery Tour Revisted" (2012) soon! I enjoyed it!
Have a good Labor Day everyone! :-)
Hi Sadie,
Believe it or not, I have the complete Magical Mystery Tour Revisited on my site...take a look.
As far as it getting taking down, I have done some things hoping to prevent it, I hope. They give you a free domain when you buy the web space. Instead of beatlesonfilm.com, I choose beatlesonfilm.rocks. I have not included an metadata on my pages (Information that lets the search engines find it.) And I won't submit it to search engines at all. My original site, Beatles Movie Page: http://beatlesx1.tripod.com is still there, and has been there since 2001. It also contain the beatles videos. This new site is just an updated version of that site. So Let's hope for the best, I love the beatles, and love making websites.
Take Care,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
I just watched "Magical Mystery Tour Revisited" on your site. I LOVED IT!!! The Quality of the Documentary is Great! It was Very Interesting and went into so much detail! It went far beyond "Why it was made, how it was made and the circumstances in which it was made". I loved seeing the older clips of Paul talking about the movie, then the New clips of Paul doing the same. And loved the Newer Clips of Ringo talking about the movie, as well. Interesting insights from Martin Scorsese and Peter Fonda too! And enjoyed the recollections from some of the other people who where in the movie. Very Interesting and Enjoyable!! A Very Well Made Documentary!! Loved It!! Thanks for Including it on your site!!!
I agree what Sadie said, that you don't have much to worry about in terms of any copyrighted content getting removed from your site! And now I see you did some things hoping to prevent the content on your site getting took down!! GREAT!! I see you have not included any metadata on your pages that lets the search engines find it. And that you won't submit it to search engines at all!! Fantastic!! I see your original site is still there and has been since 2001. And you haven't had any content that was took down from that site. So you shouldn't have anything to worry about!! :-) I Liked your original site! But, your New Site is Fantastic and so Well Done!! You did a Great Job on it!! And I like what you chose, "beatlesonfilm.rocks". Your New Site Certainly Shows that you love making websites. GREAT!!
Take Care,
Bob
Wow Anthony! http://beatlesx1.tripod.com is your site? I remember seeing it around 2004 or so. I still remember that page! Good that it's still around after nearly 15 years! Your new page is even better though! Keep up the good work! :-)
Thanks Sadie,
I enjoy making the sites. With the paid webhost I have for my new site, I found that it also has a program to allow you to create a social network. I am working on it now. It will be similar to this site.
I'll let you know when it's ready. I'll put the link into my new site.
Take Care,
Anthony
A social network? Awesome! Looking forward to it!
I ran one called "Beatlemania" for a little while but it was hosted by Spruz and they went out of business.
Have a good day, Anthony!
:-)
